Deutsche Bank Appoints DWS Strategist As Asia-Pacific CIO

Deutsche Bank's private banking division has made a senior female appointment.

Deutsche Bank's private banking arm has appointed DWS strategist Stefanie Holtze-Jen (pictured) as its new chief investment officer, Asia-Pacific.

In her new role, she is responsible for the development for the Asian house view of Deutsche Bank private bank.

At DWS Holtze-Jen was global chief currency strategist, portfolio manager, coordinating a team to guide the portfolio managers on strategy in foreign-exchange exposure covering the macro view, positioning and technical analysis. Prior to DWS, she worked in different leadership roles at Commerzbank and Royal Bank of Canada in Hong Kong, Singapore and London. 

Based in Singapore, Holtze-Jen reports to Christian Nolting, global chief investment officer, and Rajesh Mahadevan, head capital markets and CIO and investment solutions, APAC, at Deutsche Bank IPB.

"With 22 years of international experience at global banks and leading asset managers, Stefanie possesses a detailed grasp of market dynamics and drivers, with expertise in major currency pairings and Asian markets,” Nolting said. “We are confident that Stefanie is uniquely positioned to build on the continued success of our business, and to achieve further growth in Asia Pacific, where she has spent six years in leading roles. Her profound market knowledge will champion the strategic growth of Deutsche Bank International Private Bank in the region.”  

Holtze-Jen is a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Foreign Exchange Committee. She was nominated and is serving as co-vice chair of the Global Foreign Exchange Committee for a two-year term.
