Deutsche Asset Management Appoints Head Of APAC

The new hire will be based in Hong Kong.

Deutsche Asset Management  has appointed Alex Prout as head of Asia-Pacific for Deutsche Asset Management, effective from November. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Prout will report to Nicolas Moreau, chair and head of Deutshce Asset Management, as well as Thorsten Michalik, head of the global client group for Europe, Middle East and Africa and APAC, WealthBriefing Asia understands.

The new head of APAC will be responsible for the development and growth of the business within the region, and will be responsible for engaging with a range of stakeholders including clients and regulators.

He joins from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where most recently he was chief operating officer for global sales and distribution. Prior to that, he worked at Invesco Asset Management and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. He has spent much of his career in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
