The latest mergers, acquisitions and corporate actions in the wealth management sector.

Evelyn Partners, a wealth management and professional services group, has acquired Harwood Hutton, a firm of accountants, tax advisors and business specialists with an office in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.  

Established in 1957, Harwood Hutton’s 70-strong team provides clients with a range of personal and business tax and accountancy services. Its particular expertise is working with owner-managed, entrepreneurial businesses.  

“This acquisition continues our strategy of expanding the number of business and private clients we provide our professional services to,” Andrew Wilkes, chief professional services director of Evelyn Partners, said. “We are also delighted that the deal will give us an office location in the Thames Valley and allows us to work with even more clients in the region.” 

The acquisition of Harwood Hutton continues Evelyn Partners’ strategy of augmenting strong organic growth in its professional services business with selective acquisitions of high-quality firms with complementary expertise to strengthen the group’s regional presence.

The deal is the group’s fifth professional services acquisition of 2023. Last month, it announced that it had acquired Creaseys Group, which operates from Tunbridge Wells. Prior to that, Evelyn Partners acquired Leathers which has offices in Newcastle and Harrogate and in April it acquired Cambridge-based firm Ashcroft Partnership. It also completed a transaction with KPMG UK which saw an international disputes team join its Forensic Services practice.
