DBS Group Names Group Head Of Strategy, Planning

DBS Group has appointed a former senior Standard Chartered manager to head up its strategy and planning.
Singapore-headquartered DBS Group has appointed Shee Tse Koon as its group head of strategy and planning. He joins from Standard Chartered, where he was most recently chief executive of the lender’s Indonesia franchise.
Shee has worked in banking in various roles for more than 22 years, working in Asia, the Middle East and the UK. A Singaporean, he spent the early years of his career in trade finance and corporate and institutional banking. Prior to his posting in Indonesia, he was head of governance (Europe, Middle East, Africa and Americas), based in the United Arab Emirates, as well as chief information officer and head of technology and operations for Standard Chartered in Singapore.
Before this, he was the executive assistant to Standard Chartered’s group executive director for Africa and the Middle East, based in the UK, DBS said in a statement yesterday.
The new role - involving an expanded range of responsibility - will see him report to DBS chief executive Piyush Gupta and be a member of the bank's group management committee.
In other recent news about DBS, Fitch Ratings earlier this week said that Singapore’s main local banks – DBS, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp and United Overseas Bank – can withstand a severe fall in property market values, as seen in the 1997-1998 Asian financial crisis.
