Credit Suisse Names VC, Asia-Pacific Strategic Client Lead

The senior figure has been "instrumental" in growing Credit Suisse's Southeast Asia franchise, the banking group said.
Credit Suisse has appointed Jullie Kan as vice chairman and strategic client lead for Asia-Pacific, taking effect from yesterday. The appointment widens the geographic scope: she is currently VC and strategic client lead for Southeast Asia.
Kan will continue to report to Benjamin Cavalli, who is head of wealth management for APAC, in her expanded role and provide senior client coverage of ultra-high net worth and key clients across the region. She will work with market group heads, team leaders and senior bankers.
“Jullie has been instrumental in growing our Southeast Asia franchise and developing the bank’s strategic young talent recruitment programmes over the years. As we prepare for our next phase of growth, we are excited for her to play a broader role in deepening our strategic client relationships and grooming our talent pool across Asia Pacific,” Cavalli said in an emailed statement.
Kan joined the Credit Suisse Asia Pacific Foundation Board in February as a trustee and the SymAsia Foundation Limited as one of the board of directors.
Kan has more than 40 years’ experience in the wealth management industry. She joined Credit Suisse in 1998 as market group head for Malaysia. In addition to her role as market group head of Malaysia, she led the Singapore market between 2006 to 2008, and was appointed deputy head of private banking for Southeast Asia between 2008 and 2010. In 2013, Kan was appointed vice chairman for Southeast Asia.
In November 2014, Kan was conferred the designation of IBF Fellow for Wealth Management by The Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore, in recognition of her contribution to the wealth management industry.
