Close Bank Guernsey Limited has hired ex-Barclays Wealth manager David Costello as a senior relationship manager in its banking team, with the aim of providing bank services to offshore intermediary businesses.

Costello has 30 years of experience in the wealth banking sector, and has managed a portfolio of high-value intermediary clients, Close said in a statement. Prior to his time at Barclays Wealth, Costello was a senior corporate manager with Royal Bank of Scotland International in Guernsey and head of franchising for NatWest in London.

Close Bank Guernsey is part of UK-listed banking and financial services group Close Brothers; the firm has had a presence in the Channel Islands for more than 40 years.
