Citigroup Names New South Asia Wealth Head

The banker, whose career started in 2000, has worked in a variety of organisations.

Citigroup has appointed former DBS senior banker Yeo Wenxian as its new head of wealth for the Asia South region, effective as of 1 November. Yeo will be replacing Shyam Sambamurthy, who left the bank earlier this year, a spokesperson for Citigroup told this publication.

Yeo, who is a Singaporean, was head of DBS Treasures in the city-state.

Yeo will oversee Citi’s retail onshore and offshore wealth management businesses including Citigold, Citigold Private Client and Cards in Asia South and the United Arab Emirates, according to a memo from Andy Sieg, the bank’s head of wealth.

Her appointment is subject to regulatory approval. Yeo will report to Sieg and join his global leadership team.

Yeo started her career in 2000 in JP Morgan’s investment banking division after graduating from Brown University.
