Citi Private Bank Names Global Market Manager For China South, West

The role is an expanded one, the US-listed banking group said.

Citi Private Bank has appointed Seamus Yin as global market manager for Mainland China South and West, based in Hong Kong.

In this expanded role, Yin will assume overall responsibility for leading CPB’s coverage of clients from the Central, Western, and Southern parts of Mainland China, including the key provinces of Guangdong and Fujian.

Yin has more than 10 years' experience of working with top entrepreneurs from China. He joined Citi Private Bank in 2014 and has a strong track record of serving the offshore banking needs of large entrepreneurs. By leveraging Citi’s extensive platform, Yin has been at the forefront of developing bespoke solutions that meet the unique and sophisticated global investing, lending and banking needs of his clients. He has also been instrumental in building effective teams of next-generation bankers. He was previously with JP Morgan Private Bank covering offshore clients from China.

“In the future, much of the most effective offshore private banking business will be conducted by bankers who have grown up in Mainland China, covering clients from their home region and in the clients’ native Chinese dialects. Seamus will replicate his success in building such focused coverage for clients from some of China’s most entrepreneurial provinces,” Rudolf Hitsch, head of North Asia at Citi Private Bank, said.

Yin holds a master of science in finance degree from Cass Business School, City University of London, through a Chevening Scholarship obtained from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of UK, and a bachelor of arts degree in cross-cultural communication from Sichuan International Studies University.
