Citi Announces Asia-Pac Corporate And Investment Banking Head

Citi has named its current global COO for corporate and investment banking in New York to take over as Asia-Pacific corporate and investment banking head.
Citi has announced a new head of corporate and investment banking for Asia-Pacific.
Mark Slaughter assumes his new Hong Kong-based role with immediate effect, where he is expected to also work closely with private banking clients that want to enter the corporate and investment banking scene. He is currently the global chief operating officer for corporate and investment banking based in New York.
Slaughter joined the company in 2005 after almost 20 years at Goldman Sachs in Europe. He started as chief operating officer of global investment banking from 2005 to 2009, before relocating to London and taking a role outside of Citi as chief administrative officer of Investcorp, a private equity firm. He returned to Citi in 2011 as head of human capital and rejoined the corporate and investment banking unit in 2013.
He replaces Farhan Faruqui who left in May to join ANZ as head of international business in Hong Kong, as previously reported.
Citi in Asia has advised on around $85 billion of mergers and acquisitions and helped raise over $150 billion from capital markets for Asian clients in the past year.
