Change At Top Of DBS's Digital Bank

The banking group has named a group head of the digital bank, replacing a senior manager who is leaving it to move to another role outside Singapore.

Singapore-headquartered DBS has announced high-level changes to its digital banking operations.

The lender's regional head of eBusiness, Sandeep Lal, has been concurrently appointed as group head of digital bank. He will continue to report to Pearlyn Phau, deputy group head of consumer banking and wealth management.

Lal joined DBS in 2008, and has more than 30 years of experience in the banking and digital payments space. Before joining DBS, he was regional head for PayPal - and started with PayPal from its startup days in the US in 2000. Prior to that, he worked with Citibank for 18 years in various senior roles and was based in Singapore, New York, Japan and India.
As part of the change, Lal is replacing Olivier Crespin who is leaving the bank to pursue a new role in another organisation outside Singapore, a spokesperson for DBS told this publication in a statement today.
