Change At The Top Of UBS' Wealth Business In Asia-Pacific

The wealth management house is making a number of leadership changes to its Asia-Pacific business.
UBS' wealth management business in Asia is making a number of top-level changes, including making Amy Lo, currently head of WM for Greater China, the chairman for Greater China, reporiting to Edmund Koh, who heads up the wealth management business in Asia-Pacific.
Lo will continue her role as country head for Hong Kong, UBS said in a memo seen by this publication.
Ravi Raju, currently managing director, based in Hong Kong, will assume responsibility for the global ultra-high net worth business across the APAC region; he continues to report to Edmund Koh and Joe Stadler, who is head of global UHNW.
"Ravi's experience and expertise make him well placed to continue driving the UHNW growth agenda in APAC and further develop our product offering and lending capabilities for this important client segment," the memo said.
"Given the importance of Greater China as a key strategic market for UBS Wealth Management, and expectations that it will contribute over 60 per cent of the wealth creation in APAC between now and 2020, we aim to achieve substantial growth in our business there over the next three years," the memo said, explaining its changes.
"With this in mind, we have asked Amy Lo to focus fully on developing our WM APAC Greater China business going forward. Amy will be responsible for driving the expansion of our exceptionally successful Greater China onshore and offshore businesses, making full use of the potential and capabilities of our platforms in UBS Securities (UBSS) and UBS (China) Limited (UBSCL)," it continued.
The bank said that during's Lo's tenure in her most recent role, the size of the UHNW Asia-Pacific business has more than doubled.
The changes are effective immediately.
