Candriam Appoints Head Of Global Financial Institutions

The European asset manager that is part of New York Life Investment Management has made a senior appointment in Germany.

Candriam Investors Group has hired Andreas Wenk as head of global financial institutions, a new position. 

Wenk joins from Itaú UK Asset Management, where he was head of Europe for wholesale and institutional. He has more than 20 years of industry experience.

Based in Frankfurt, Wenk will be responsible for the firm’s client relations with international wealth management institutions. 

“As part of a global international fund management group, we are well positioned to cater to global financial institutions a broad range of investment products and strategies in Europe, the US and Asia,” said Renato Guerriero, global head of Europe and Middle East client relations.

“Wenk, through his experience with global financial institutions, will be an important driver to further develop these partnerships through a comprehensive and tailored approach.”

Last month, the firm appointed Pictet’s Fawzy Salarbux as head of consultant relations. In February, Chris Davies joined as head of UK distribution and Derek Brander as head of UK wholesale. 

Candriam managed around €94.1 billion ($104 billion) in assets as of the end of 2015.
