CIBC Opens Wealth Arm In The Caymans, Looks To Expand Across Caribbean
CIBC FirstCaribbean has opened its first wealth management office in the Cayman Islands.
Barbados-based CIBC FirstCaribbean has opened its first wealth management office in the Cayman Islands. The business is part of CIBC, the Canadian banking group.
The Cayman office is the first of what will eventually be six wealth management offices throughout the region, managing director Mark McIntyre said, with the Caymans as the flagship office. Other targets include the Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Curacao.
“It makes sense that Cayman would boast the flagship office as our jurisdiction’s reputation for excellence in both service and quality of financial products and offerings is both well-documented and well-earned,” McIntyre added.
CIBC FirstCaribbean is the largest regionally-listed bank in the Caribbean.
