Two Austin-based investment teams have joined forces to launch Brown Advisory's new office in the Lone Star State.

Brown Advisory, the global investment firm, has brought in two Austin, TX-based investment management teams to launch its eighth office. 

Blackhaw Wealth Management, founded by Ian McAbeer in 2009 and joined by Tushar Shah in 2014, has combined its business with Brown Advisory. Joining with McAbeer and Shah are Blackhaw colleagues Sarah Richardson and Mia Karides.

Erik Cohen, Jonathan Levy and Mindy McDuffie represent the other side of the addition, and join Brown Advisory from Oxbow Advisors.

Founded in 1993 as an affiliate of US investment bank Alex. Brown & Sons, Brown Advisory became independent in 1998 and today serves private clients and institutions in 34 countries.
