Brown Advisors Names North Asia (ex-Japan) Head

The US-headquartered firm has already built a presence in Singapore; it opened a Tokyo office last year.
Brown Advisory, the US investment management firm with $157.0 billion in client assets (as at 28 June this year), has appointed Yoon Bean Kim as head of North Asia (ex-Japan). The role is a new one for the firm, it confirmed to this news service.
Kim is joining from Fullerton Asset Management in Singapore, where he was mainly responsible for building a presence and growing sales in South Korea. Prior this, he worked at JP Morgan Asset Management for eight years.
In his new role, Kim will work with Walter Beckett, Asia-Pacific head.
Having established a presence in Singapore since 2019, Brown Advisory recently passed $3.5 billion of assets managed out of the region (as at 28 June this year). In 2023, it opened a Tokyo office, appointing Toshiyuki Murasawa as head of distribution in Japan
