Blackwell Wins Hong Kong Licence To Expand Offerings

The licence also enables Blackwell to provide financial services to clients in Europe, Greater China, Australia and New Zealand.
A Hong Kong watchdog has granted regulatory clearance to Blackwell Global Hong Kong, opening the path for it offer asset management.
The offerings will include equities, bonds and mutual funds, Blackwell said in a statement yesterday. The Type 9 license was granted by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission.
The licence also enables Blackwell to provide financial services to clients in Europe, Greater China, Australia and New Zealand. The provider of foreign exchange and contracts for difference has already received regulatory licences. The latest licence widens its product reach, it said.
Blackwell Global, headquartered in London, UK, entered the Hong Kong market in 2015, with the establishment of Blackwell Global Hong Kong.
“The brokerage aims to meet the increasing demands for a secure, one-stop investment solution provider, especially with the gateway opened via Stock Connect, paving the way for Chinese, and increasingly, international clients demanding a robust and firmly regulated financial services market,” the firm said.
