BlackRock Names South Korea Head
The head of the business in the North Asian country comes from Morgan Stanley.
BlackRock has named Yoon Pyo Lee as its South Korea head and managing director, effective 20 December 2024.
Based in Seoul, Lee (pictured) is responsible for developing and executing a long-term business strategy for the firm in the country. He will be joining from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he served as head of Korea.

Lee has more than 25 years’ experience in private and public market investment, as well as business development.
Before his Morgan Stanley role, he was co-CEO at Truston Asset Management, responsible for building the company’s private market practice and managing its fixed income business.
Lee spent more than seven years at the National Pension Service of South Korea as head of global private market investment and later became head of investment strategy.
In October, BlackRock, the world’s largest fund manager, reported that its total AuM hit $11.4785 trillion at the end of September, rising from $9.1 trillion a year ago and propelled by $221.18 billion of net flows in the quarter, contrasting with $2.6 billion a year ago.
