Bank Of China (Hong Kong) Issues Warning Of Fake Website

Another bank in Hong Kong has alerted the public about a fake website.

In another reminder of scams to lure the unwary, Bank of China (Hong Kong) has warned the public to be on guard over fake emails purporting to be from the bank that have asked customers to confirm passwords.

The design of the fraudulent website is identical, with the official English login page of BOCHK internet banking, the bank said in a statement.

The bank said it has alerted the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the city’s police force about the matter.

Hang Seng Bank and Bank of East Asia have issued similar warnings about fake websites in recent months, highlighting a concern about how criminals are targeting bank customers in this way to obtain private information.
