Bank J Safra Sarasin Names CIO For Asia

The macroeconomics, investment and asset management expert who has worked at firms such as Pictet and JP Morgan, has held academic posts in China and the US.
Bank J Safra Sarasin has appointed Dr Dong Chen as chief investment officer, Asia, effective from yesterday.
Dr Chen brings over two decades of expertise in macroeconomic research, investment strategy, and asset management to Bank J Safra Sarasin. Prior to his new role, he was chief Asia strategist and head of Asia research at Pictet Wealth Management.

Before Pictet, Dr Chen was a senior economist at JP Morgan Private Bank, where he conducted in-depth original research on the macroeconomic conditions of major Asia-Pacific economies and managed multi-asset class portfolios.
Earlier in his career, Dr Chen was assistant professor at the School of Economics, Peking University, where he taught advanced econometrics and Chinese economy to both domestic and international students. He has also held visiting positions at Yale University and Stanford University.
