Bronfman E L Rothschild is the new name for Baker Tilly Investment Advisors - formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of the accounting firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause - after the unit was acquired by the family offices of private investor Matthew Bronfman and E L Rothschild.
In May last year, Baker Tilly Investment Advisors – led by Bruce Laning, Kelly Baumbach and Brian Powers - partnered with the Bronfman and E L Rothschild family offices. The Baker Tilly Investment Advisor management team had developed a growth plan to expand the resources it could provide to clients while strengthening its organization through a broader geographic presence, but the scale of the plan required outside capital and the firm turned to Matthew Bronfman and E L Rothschild.
E L Rothschild is a family-owned private investment holding company that oversees a variety of Sir Evelyn and Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild’s global investments. Current holdings include media, financial services, infrastructure, technology, luxury goods and real estate.
“The same investment platform and advisory team remains in place. Several of our investment professionals have become investors in the new firm alongside the Bronfman and E L Rothschild families, ensuring continuity of the team,” said Laning.
The newly-branded firm oversees around $1.9 billion in assets under management, as at end-December 2013.
