Baker McKenzie appoints compliance high-flier

Christoph Kurth (pictured) has joined Baker McKenzie’s Compliance and Investigation Practice in Zurich.

Kurth previously worked at UBS (Singapore) where he was the general counsel for wealth management for the Asia-Pacific area and, before that, was head of litigation and investigations for the area.

Kurth started off as a litigator in private practice in Switzerland and the US. He worked at Schellenberg Wittmer in Zurich at the turn of the century, then at Shaw Pittman in Washington DC in 2002-3, then back at his old firm in Zurich again until 2006, when he joined UBS in Zurich. It was this move that transformed his career, resulting in his departure for Singapore in 2011 and a string of senior appointments there.
