BNY
Mellon Wealth Management has announced yet more
hires, naming Edward Kearney and Peter McManus as senior
directors for business
development, based in Southern California and Boston, MA,
respectively.
Kearney reports to
Shannon Kennedy, regional president for Southern California’s
Orange and San
Diego counties, while McManus reports to Frederick
Young, managing director in Boston, MA. (Although McManus will
focus on Boston's North Shore, BNY Mellon said).
Kearney is latterly of ARAG North America, a global
provider of legal services, where he was managing director of
sales. Before
joining ARAG in 2011, he served in several roles with The AYCO
Company. Over
the course of 11 years with that firm, he directed teams focused
on selling
financial counseling and educational services. He began his
career as a
financial consultant with MassMutual.
McManus - BNY Mellon WM's fourth new hire in New England this
year - has 35 years of industry experience and is latterly of
Granite Investment Advisors, where he was a
senior vice president and head of business development. Prior to
that, he was
partner and account manager at Cadence Capital Management.
The hires are part of
a campaign to increase BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s sales force
by 50 per cent in what it views as the top US wealth
markets by year-end 2014. Yesterday, for example, the New
York-listed firm
hired Christopher Swink as senior director for business
development in Florida.
Swink reports to regional director, Ray Ifert, in Tampa.
Other recent BNY Mellon Wealth Management hires
include: Helen Nugent to a newly-created role as a
managing director of sales to lead business development efforts
in the Southeast region; Robert Pick as senior director in Palm
Beach Gardens; and Eric Matheson as senior
director of business development serving the ultra high net worth
market in the
New York Tri-State region. Last week it also made two senior
business
development hires in Westport, CT, and the southern Connecticut
market - as well as in Pittsburgh, PA.
