BNY Investments Appoints New Japan Head
The newly-appointed figure comes from Mercer, where he served in senior roles at that firm.
BNY Investments, part of BNY, has appointed Masaaki Sakakibara as head of Japan. H
Formerly at Mercer Japan, Sakakibara reports Doni Shamsuddin, CEO for Asia-Pacific at BNY Investments. Sakakibara replaces Katsutoshi Endo, who retired in June this year, a spokesperson for BNY confirmed to this publication when asked about the matter.
At Mercer, Sakakibara was wealth business country leader and CEO of Mercer Investments (Japan).
Masaaki joins BNY Investments from Mercer Japan, where he was wealth business country leader and CEO of Mercer Investments (Japan). Prior to that, he was head of sales, client service and marketing of Western Asset Management Japan. He also held sales positions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management earlier in his career.
