BNP Paribas Wealth Announces More Hires For APAC

BNP Paribas has strengthened its Asia-Pacific wealth management capabilites with a clutch of senior hires, made over the last four months.
Brian Kenyon was appointed regional head of wealth planning
solutions for Asia-Pacific in
August, based in Singapore. He takes on the expanded role, in
addition to his original capacity as head of trust and
structuring administration for Asia-Pacific. He was previously
managing director of the bank's Singapore Trust Company. Before
moving to Singapore in July 2011, he was chairman of BNP Paribas
Jersey Trust Corporation in Jersey.
Berry Wong joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management in early October as regional head of wealth planning services, Asia-Pacific, reporting to Kenyon. He was previously with HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) as a senior director of wealth planning based in Hong Kong.
Anton Wong was appointed head of key clients group, Asia-Pacific,
in early October, based in
Hong Kong. In his expanded role, he will lead the development of
BNP Paribas Wealth
Management’s key clients strategy and platform in the region,
including developing customised
solutions and cross-selling with the corporate and investment
bank. He joined the bank in October 2011 as managing director for
the segment. Prior to this, he was director, solution partners,
at Credit Suisse Private Bank.
Angela Yang joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management in July as key
clients solutions manager,
reporting to Anton Wong, head of key clients group, Asia-Pacific,
based in Hong Kong. Angela
joined from Citi Private Bank where she was a relationship
manager servicing ultra high net
worth clients.
The bank has been hiring aggressively in recent months, but has also been losing staff, underlining the ongoing battle for talent in Asia. In May a team of nine from BNP Paribas' China wealth management division quit en masse for Credit Suisse, weeks after the French bank lured a team of four from its Swiss rival.
