BNP Paribas WM Names New Asia Wealth COO

The new COO in the Asian wealth business has worked in a number of senior roles at the bank. He is based in Singapore.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has appointed Marc Kermaidic as its new chief operating officer for its Asian wealth arm. The appointment takes effect from 1 June.

He will succeed Long Doan who will be taking up a new role within the bank – to be announced in due course.

Based in Singapore, Kermaidic will report directly to Arnaud Tellier, Asia CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management, and functionally to Pierre Vincent, COO and chief transformation officer of BNP Paribas Wealth Management.

Kermaidic will be in charge of operations, client lifecycle management, finance/performance management as well as IT support and projects.

The head of investment services development for wealth management’s global Asian and international markets fields, he brings extensive experience to the role, the French bank said in a statement yesterday.

Prior to taking up this role in 2017, Kermaidic was head of investment counselling in Hong Kong. He moved there from Dubai in 2013, working in roles such as head of products for the MENA market and as commercial head for Middle East sites.

“With a strong background in financial markets, products and services, and client-facing sales experience, I am confident that Marco will help us further strengthen our platform in Asia to keep improving our efficiency and quality of service,” Arnaud Tellier, Asia chief executive for BNP Paribas Wealth Management, said.
