BNP Paribas Appoints APAC Global Banking Head

The role doesn’t cover wealth management – a separate area – although this side of the business is closely integrated with other divisions.

BNP Paribas has appointed one of its senior figures, Aymar de Liedekerke Beaufort, as Asia-Pacific global banking head.

De Liedekerke Beaufort has taken up the newly-created role with immediate effect, the French bank said yesterday in a statement. He is based in Hong Kong and reports to Yannick Jung, head of global banking, BNP Paribas and Paul Yang, CEO Asia-Pacific, BNP Paribas.

The role doesn't cover wealth management – a separate area – although this side of the business is closely integrated with other divisions of the Paris-listed group.

With more than 30 years’ experience at BNP Paribas, de Liedekerke Beaufort has worked in banking in Europe and Asia. He has served in senior roles in Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany. For example, he led the development of BNP Paribas’ European network of business centres for mid-cap and multinational clients before relocating to Germany to oversee corporate coverage and transaction banking. He has spent the last seven years in Asia, serving as territory head for Vietnam, India and most recently, South Korea.
