BNP Paribas' Greater China Awards Success

This news service recently saluted a range of organisations and individuals who won in our Greater China Awards programme. We will run a series of stories describing what the judges thought about the winners. Here we have BNP Paribas.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management walked away with a range of awards at the WealthBriefingAsia Greater China 2020 Awards programme. The variety highlights the strength in depth of the group, part of Paris-listed BNP Paribas.

In reaching their conclusions, the judges said the following about these categories:

Best NRI offering by a private bank
“Our winner amply demonstrated that it was able to leverage its position as the largest foreign private bank in India and that it is one of the few wealth managers who are part of a much larger and consolidated ‘Indian markets’ franchise. This allows it to identify India-centric products and opportunities, and very quickly assist NRIs with their wealth and corporate needs both onshore and offshore.”

Best philanthropy services
“Our winner put in a very impressive submission with several examples of how its services were beneficiary focused and impact centric. These included collaborative philanthropy with business synergy and partnering with communities and governments.”

Best credit provider
“Our winner impressed by providing detailed case studies highlighting the bank’s flexibility and capability as a credit provider. This is especially relevant when many Asian tycoons (especially in South East Asia) like to manage their personal assets in similar style as their business’ investment assets.”

Best impact investing
“Our winner greatly impressed by introducing carbon footprint reporting. And was able to demonstrate that the relevant portfolio generated almost 50 per cent fewer carbon emissions per million dollars invested as compared to the benchmark. A real achievement towards global sustainability.”

Headline sponsor for the awards was Refinitiv; other sponsors were Huddleston Jones, ProFundCom, smartKYC and Sun Life Financial.
