Kardinia Capital, the Australian investment management firm, names a former Nomura Australia executive to lead alongside its founders.

Kardinia Capital, the Australian investment manager, has hired a former Nomura Australia executive to strengthen its investment team. 

Peter Lucas joins the company as a portfolio manager, alongside current managers Mark Burgess and Kristiaan Rehder. Lucas was previously an executive director, head of Melbourne institutional sales at Nomura Australia. Before that, he was a portfolio manager for AR Capital Management.

Kardinia was established by Burgess and Rehder in August 2011, in partnership with Bennelong Funds Management. The now three-person team manages the Bennelong Kardinia Absolute Return Fund, a long/short Australian equity product for which Bennelong is the responsible entity.
