Affluent Asian Population Is Getting Younger - HSBC Study

Affluent people in China
are the youngest in Asia excluding Japan and their numbers are poised
to surpass counterparts in developed Asian markets, according to HSBC, Bloomberg reported.

The average age of people in China with liquid assets of at
least RMB500,000 ($78,000) is 36, compared with 48 in Hong Kong and 38 in
Indonesia, according to an HSBC report released today that covered Australia,
China, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

The HSBC report echoes findings from the Merrill Lynch/Cap
Gemini World Wealth Report 2011 published in June, showing that in Asia, its wealthy population (high net worth
individuals), have the most youthful populace of any HNW region, with 41 per
cent of such persons being 45 or younger.
