Adamas Promotes Multi-Asset Specialist To CIO

Planning to deliver strong returns from Asia's credit markets and directly supporting Chinese growth companies, the asset manager has promoted its MD to run the investment strategy.

Hong Kong-based Adamas Asset Management has appointed Brock Silvers as its new chief investment officer, with immediate effect. High profile Silvers has been with Adamas since August 2019, serving as managing director in charge of global marketing and investor relations.

In the new role, he will be in charge of all aspects of portfolio strategy and execution, as well managing Adamas’ investment staff, the asset house said.

Silvers, a fluent Chinese speaker and Wharton alum, was previously managing director at multi-asset investment firm Kaiyuan Capital based in Shanghai. He also spent time as equity research director at Equity Group Investments and is a former CEO at Shanghai-based hospitality group Laris.

Adamas, founded just over a decade ago, said that it has seen significant new opportunities in Asian credit markets and cited direct lending to fast-growing companies and distressed debt in Greater China as other focus areas for generating strong investor returns. The firm’s clients include institutional investors, private banks, and family offices.

"As Adamas commits to an Asian regional focus across credit sectors and products, Brock’s multi-asset background and deep pan-Asian experience will significantly benefit our ability to deliver extraordinary returns to our LPs", managing partner and CEO Paul Heffner, said of the promotion.
