AMP Capital widens its coverage of the Australian market by opening up access to three of its fund to retail investors.

AMP Capital, the Sydney-headquartered global investment house, has expanded its retail offering by making three of its funds available to retail clients for the first time. 

The AMP Capital Dynamic Markets Fund, Australian Equity Income Fund and Income Generator have strong track records in their respective divisions, said the firm in a statement. The first two funds had previously been available only to institutional investors, while the Income Generator has only been accessible via platforms.

"The is a gap in the market for innovative investment products that are aligned to the needs of retail investors. These investors have goals that are often linked to the lifestyle they want to lead and subsequently want products that can provide more certain outcomes," said Craig Keary, head of retail and corporate business for AMP Capital.

The Dynamic Markets Fund is targeted toward accumulators or pre-retirees looking for adjustable and cost-effective ways to invest; the Income Generator is designed for clients looking for lower volatility and medium to long-term capital growth; while the Australian Equity Income Fund appeals to those with a need for income that grows over time to mitigate cost of living increases. 

The company said more products will be made available in due course.
