AMP Capital Announces New Hires For Australian Alternatives Unit

AMP Capital, the US-based investment firm, has hired portfolio management specialists for its alternatives unit in Australia.

Dr Alistair Rew joins as senior portfolio manager, while Celine Nguyen takes the role of portfolio manager. 

Dr Rew brings over eight years of investment management experience to the role and has worked in New York, London and Sydney. In this new post, he will specialise in institutional quality investment and risk management for large hedge fund programs. He reports to Suzanne Tavill, head of alternatives for AMP Capital

Nguyen has over six years' experience as a research analyst at EIM Management in the US, where she conducted investment hedge fund due diligence on a range of strategies, including convertible arbitrage and long/short equity. 

The new hires brings AMP's total investment specialist team to five. The group is supported by specialised advisors, as well as legal, tax and operational resources in the business.
