 Victoire Brasil Obtains Regulatory Approval For Hong Kong Venture

Victoire Asia Investments, the 50-50 asset management venture between Victoire Brasil Investimentos and a team led by Esemplia founder Aquico Wen, has finally received a go-ahead to operate in Hong Kong.

Victoire Asia Investments, the Hong Kong-based arm of Brazilian asset management firm Victoire Brasil Investimentos, has received approval from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission to begin operating in the territory. 

The business, which was launched in September 2013, is 50 per cent owned by its Brazilian parent and 50 per cent owned by a team of senior investors composed of Aquico Wen, Young Chow and Josephine Lam. Wen, the team's leader, is the founder and chief investment officer of Esemplia Emerging Markets. 

"We see tremendous opportunities in Asia for the Victoire method of investing -- one which is highly research driven and focused on investing longer term in a diverse range of no more than ten to 20 Asian companies with market capitalisations ranging fro $500,000 to $3 billion," said Wen in a statement. 

According to the firm, the funds offer will be "high convication, performance driven, benchmark agnostic, absolute return oriented strategies focused on investing in undervalued companies with supportive fundamentals and governance practices."
