EXCLUSIVE: European Bank's Market Head For Philippines Leaves

A large European bank in Asia has seen the departure of a market head for the Philippines.

BNP Paribas, which has seen several moves in Asia recently, has seen the departure of its market head for the Philippines, Susan Maceda, this publication has learned. Her future plans are unclear at this stage, although it is understood she is off to perform a similar role at a large Asia-based bank.

Her title at the Paris-listed firm has been that of Managing Director at BNP Paribas Investment Partners.

Earlier, this publication reported that Masroor Batin, a former head of Southeast Asia markets for Merrill Lynch – later becoming market head of Singapore for Julius Baer (after the Swiss bank’s purchase of the Merrill IWM business) – is joining the French firm as managing director and global head of non-resident Indian business. Batin reports to Stephane Honig, head of the India sub-continent business, which includes India onshore business.

Eric Aubin, former market head of international and emerging Asia (Thailand, Philippines, Korea and Japan) is being reassigned to focus purely on international markets, while Clarence T’ao, chief executive of BNP Paribas’ corporate and investment banking unit, China) replacing him, based in Hong Kong as the new market head of emerging Asia.
