Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Alpadis Group, State Street

The latest moves in wealth management across Asia-Pacific.

Alpadis Group
Alpadis Group, the Switzerland-based firm which provides multi-jurisdictional corporate and bespoke fiduciary services, has stepped up its Asia presence by hiring former Julius Baer figure Samy Reeb as managing director of Alpadis Trust (HK) Ltd.

The firm said Reeb will “develop and implement the business development strategy, and help the group expand into new markets”.

Reeb had worked for nearly six years at Julius Baer, as executive director, wealth planning proposition and provider management. He has also worked at some of the world’s largest law firms, as well as at JP Morgan, Credit Suisse and Ernst & Young.

This publication has asked Alpadis about its strategy in Hong Kong and the related region, and will update in due course. The firm said Reeb’s role was a newly-formed one.

Last July Alpadis acquired Singapore-based TAO Trust Group Pte as part of an expansion in the Asia city-state. In 2009 Alpadis Group entered the Singapore market (the firm was originally founded in 2005). Clients include high net worth individuals and companies. TAO Trust Group has operated since 2008.

State Street
State Street Corporation has appointed Michele Hardeman as head of global markets for Asia-Pacific.

Hardeman, who has relocated to Hong Kong from Boston, previously served as head of foreign exchange sales for State Street Global Markets.

In her new role, Hardeman leads the strategic direction, sales, service and operations of the global markets business in Asia-Pacific. She reports to Wai-Kwong Seck, chief executive for Asia-Pacific, and Lou Maiuri, global head of Global Markets.

Hardeman joined State Street in 1998 and was head of FX sales for Australia prior to her move to Boston in 2011, where she took on the same position for the Americas.

BNP Paribas Securities Services
BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Takeshi Kozu as head of securities services Japan. He replaces Laurent Guittonneau who has relocated back to Europe with BNP Paribas.

Based in Tokyo, Kozu will continue to build the growth of BNP Paribas Securities Services in Japan. Kozu reports hierarchically to Philippe Benoit, head of securities services Asia-Pacific, and functionally to Nicolas Pillet, general manager of BNP Paribas, Tokyo branch.

With more than 20 years’ experience in securities services, Kozu joins BNP Paribas from Mizuho Financial Group.
