Bank Of Singapore Recruits Ex-UBS Manager As Changes Continue

The Singapore-based bank has brought a former UBS employee over to its RM team. The bank has made a number of team changes in recent weeks.

Bank of Singapore, which recently named a new chief investment officer as well as other team changes, confirmed yesterday that a former UBS employee has joined as a Singapore-based relationship manager.

The new RM is Catherine Vannavong. She joined BoS on 4 April this year, the bank told this publication when asked about the matter.

As reported recently, Johan Jooste, formerly of Azure Wealth and Julius Baer, has been named as the new CIO, taking over from Hou Wey Fook, who is relinquishing his position as CIO to focus exclusively on his role as head of managed investments, which BoS said is an “area of growing importance”. Hou will be responsible for managing and growing Bank of Singapore’s managed investment solutions, which include discretionary portfolio mandates, mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity funds.

Bank of Singapore has also structured a team of industry specialists to drive its expansion into managed investments. The team includes Tang Hsiao Ching, head of advisory and sales (she joined on 19 October 2015), and Edward Moon, senior product specialist (he joined on 4 April 2016).

Via its OCBC parent, Bank of Singapore in early April agreed to acquire the Barclays Wealth and Investment Management businesses in Singapore and Hong Kong.
