Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – UBS, Capital Group

The latest moves and appointments for senior roles for Asia-Pacific wealth management.

UBS has appointed new business sector heads for its wealth business in Thailand and the Philippines, according to a memo.

Reporting to Jin Yee and effective immediately, Boriboon Niyomsathien, will now serve as BSH for global wealth management Thailand and Robert Rohner is BSH for the Philippines.

Niyomsathien has been at the Swiss bank for almost 18 years and Rohner has worked there for 30 years. 

They were previously market team hears in the Thailand and Philippines team.

β€œThailand and Philippines are key priorities for our wealth management business in the region,” the memo said.

In other appointments, market team heads were named as follows: Jamin Ong, Philippines; Kenny Ng, Philippines; and Tirawadi Towon, Thailand.

Capital Group
A former senior UBS figure has been appointed by California-headquartered Capital Group as head of its institutional Europe and Asia client group.

Benno Klingenberg-Timm, CFA, has been at the organisation since October, according to his Linkedin profile. He is based in Singapore. 

Prior to Capital Group, he worked at UBS for a total of 21 years in various roles, most recently (since June 2023), as head of the institutional and global sovereign markets group for Asia-Pacific, and held the post of managing director. 

Before joining UBS, he was a banking trainee at Berenberg, the Hamburg-headquartered lender. He has a diploma in international business from Reutlingen University.
