Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Lansberg Gersick Advisors, Citigroup

The latest moves, appointments, and personnel changes in the Asia-Pacific wealth management sector.

Lansberg Gersick Advisors
Lansberg Gersick Advisors, a Connecticut, US-headquartered firm that advises family-run businesses, has recruited a former UBS and Credit Suisse senior figure as a partner in Asia, based in Singapore.

LGA said Thomas Ang (main picture) will lead its global practice for family offices and co-ordinate its advisory team in Asia. The firm announced the move on its Linkedin page. Ang also referred to his move on his Linkedin page.

Prior to LGA, Ang was managing director and global co-head for family advisory, art and collecting at UBS Global Wealth Management. He founded Credit Suisse Family Office Services in 2008 and had served as the global head of Family Office Services until 2023.

“I've spent years working closely with families and family offices, building deep practical experience across countless unique situations.

“But I've come to realise that at best, I'm a proficient generalist who is able to help each family navigate the complexity of their story. What draws me to LGA isn't just the community or brain trust – it's the heart trust and shared commitment to doing this work with genuine care. Every family deserves advisors who see beyond the balance sheet to the legacy they're building,” Ang wrote.

Citigroup
Citigroup has appointed John McLean as head of equity capital markets and global asset managers for Australia and New Zealand.

McLean is head of GAM, the US bank’s financial sponsors business in the Asia-Pacific region.

In his new role, McLean is responsible for managing a regional team advising global alternative asset manager and sovereign wealth fund clients. He has more than two decades’ experience in equity capital markets.

As part of his appointment, McLean will relocate to Sydney from Singapore.

McLean joined Citigroup in Sydney in 2001.
