The latest senior wealth management moves, appointments and personnel changes in Asia-Pacific.

BNP Paribas
BNP Paribas Wealth Management has appointed ex-HSBC figure Kah Yi Chung as head of private and alternative investments, Asia, effective 1 September.

Chung, who is based in Singapore, reports directly Shafali Sachdev, head of investment services, Asia-Pacific.

As part of her role, Chung will lead and accelerate the firm's growth strategy for private and alternative investments, the French banking group said in an internal memo shared with this news service.

Chung has more than 20 years’ experience in investment and sales roles.

At HSBC, where Chung worked for seven years, she was head of alternatives for South Asia; prior to that, she worked at Partners Group and Eaton Partners.

Chung holds a master's in finance from the London Business School and a bachelor of business from Nanyang Technological University.

Howden
Howden, a global insurance intermediary group, has named Rebecca Poon as chief client officer, adding to its Asia leadership team. Based in Hong Kong, Poon will formally join Howden after completing the contractual obligations to her current employer.

Most recently, Poon was managing director for Marsh in Hong Kong, following 42-year career at that company.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rebecca to Howden,” Chye Huat, CEO, Howden Asia, said. “Her expertise and reputation in the market will be invaluable as we continue to expand our footprint and deliver standout solutions to our clients. That she has chosen Howden for her first career move in over four decades speaks volumes about the strength of our proposition and the values we stand for.”

Founded in 1994, Howden provides insurance, reinsurance and underwriting services and solutions to clients ranging from private individuals to large multinational companies. It operates in 56 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, the US, Australia and New Zealand.
