Schroders Creates Senior Fixed Income Role, Former Head Of European/UK Credit Exits

Schroders has appointed Patrick Vogel to the newly-created role of head of European and UK credit management and research, effective from 27 August.
In his new role, Vogel will oversee the firm’s London-based credit portfolio management and research function, while serving as lead portfolio manager for the Schroder ISF Euro Corporate Bond fund. He will report to Karl Dasher, global head of fixed income.
Meanwhile, Adam Cordery, former head of European and UK credit, has left Schroders to pursue other opportunities, according to a statement.
Vogel was latterly head of European credit portfolio management at Legal & General. At Schroders, he joins a 46-strong global team of credit professionals. His appointment follows the recent addition of Alix Stewart and Konstantin Leidman to Schroders’ credit team.
Overall, the firm’s fixed income team comprises almost 100 investment professionals, managing some £41 billion (about $67 billion) in assets, as at 31 March.
Earlier this week, the firm launched three emerging market debt funds, following a raft of recent appointments within its emerging market debt team.
The SISF Emerging Market Sovereign Bond fund and the SISF Emerging Markets Bond fund are both managed from the firm’s US office, led by James Barrineau and supported by Alexander Moseley, Fernando Grisales and Chris Tackney. The SISF Emerging Market Corporate Bond fund is managed by Rajeev de Mello in Singapore.
