SGAM Alternative Investments is launching its AI Equity fund across Europe, in France, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Austria and Germany.

This UCITS III fund offers institutional and retail clients access to US hedge fund specialists managing long-only or long-biased equity investment strategies.

The Luxembourg-domiciled SICAV was launched in September 2006, with three sub-funds providing access to these strategies in US equities, using funds from three managers for different approaches: Caxton Associates (bottom-up, research-driven), Highbridge Capital Management (quantitative management based on statistical arbitrage models) and Renaissance Technologies (mathematical and statistical methods).

The SGAM fund offers investors mutual fund-like characteristics such as daily liquidity, multi-currency share classes and accessibility, combined with a much lower minimum investment threshold than is normally applicable to funds with equivalent strategies, with minimum subscription to any single fund at $1,000, €1,000, £1,000 or SFr1,000 depending on the share class.

SGAM AI intends to launch other sub-funds in future.
