The Singapore-headquartered private bank has been expanding its investment capabilities in recent days.
Bank of Singapore, which last week unveiled an independent investment advisory council, has appointed a chief portfolio strategist – Dr Owi S Ruivivar, an investment manager with more than three decades’ experience in economics, strategy and portfolio management.
Based in Singapore, Dr Ruivivar will be a member of the bank’s investment committee. She reports to the lender’s global chief investment officer, Jean Chia. Prior to this, she worked at Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC, leading investment-focused thematic research at the Economics and Investment Strategy Department. Before GIG, she worked for 17 years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Dr Ruivivar has a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and been awarded a range of scholarships and fellowships.
Since January this year, the chief investment officer has been a standalone unit that reports to chief executive Jason Moo.
This year, the office also introduced a wealth management and investment management technology platform to enhance the client experience through its client portfolio analysis and portfolio construction capabilities.
