The banking group's wealth management business, which operates in regions such as Asia, has rebranded, adopting a name harking back to its 19th Century origins.

Crédit Agricole Private Banking is rebranding as Indosuez Wealth Management, the French banking group said today.

The name, which reflects part of the bank’s 19th century heritage, will be the wealth management brand of the Crédit Agricole group, rounding out a transformation of this business arm that started in 2012, it said in a statement. This publication was aware that a name change using the Indosuez tag was in the works.

“The wealth management business is fully in line with Crédit Agricole’s customer-centric, universal banking model. Our aim is to offer our customers the full range of the group’s expertise,” said Jean-Yves Hocher, deputy chief executive of Crédit Agricole, in charge of major clients.

“The transformation of Indosuez Wealth Management is clear evidence of our ability to provide high value-added services to the broadest possible range of clients, while continuing to work in synergy with the group’s other business lines, in the very best interest of our clients,” he added.

The Indosuez name dates back to Banque de l’Indochine, founded in 1875. At present, the wealth management business has 30 offices in 14 countries serving high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients worldwide. It manages client assets totalling €110 billion (at the end of 2015).

The bank’s core offering is organised around three divisions: “structuring wealth”; “investing wealth”, and “banking and beyond”.
